Yeisk braid

A sandy-shell spit that runs into the Sea of ​​Azov is about 3 km long, which is part of the Yeisk peninsula. Until 1914, its length was 9 km, but a strong hurricane eroded the soil and separated most of the land, which turned into an independent island (it is called the "Island of the Seven Winds" or "Green Island"). The Yeisk spit is a picturesque natural landmark, where many travelers are striving to get.

Yeisk estuary

The Gulf of the Azov Sea with an area of ​​over 240 km². It is considered the largest estuary in the North Caucasus. The city of Yeysk is spread on its banks, within which there are several sandy beaches. The coastline of the Eisky estuary is only 10 meters wide. Most of the beaches are not equipped with infrastructure, so here you can find a quiet and peaceful place to relax.

Yeisk seaport

The cargo sea terminal in the south of the Taganrog Bay, accepting Russian and international ships transporting coal, metal and agricultural products. The port is connected by waterways with Turkey, Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Israel, Egypt and other states. The harbor was founded in 1848 after the victory in the next Russian-Turkish war and the annexation of the territory of the modern Kuban to the Russian Empire.

Railway station building

The Yeisk railway station is the gateway to the city through which many tourists pass, arriving here on vacation from all over Russia. The first station building was erected in 1911 at the initiative of the city authorities. During the Second World War, the building was blown up. The modern building that has survived to this day appeared in 1956. A bust of the founder of Yeisk, Prince M.S.Vorontsov, is installed in front of the station.

Gostiny Dvor

The architecture of Gostiny Dvor of Yeisk is quite atypical for this kind of structures. The complex was built in the middle of the 19th century according to the general plan approved by M. Vorontsov. Architect I. Zhukovsky worked on the project. Today, as before, there are shopping arcades in Gostiny Dvor. The structure is a series of galleries with large wall-to-wall openings topped with a tiled roof.

Memorial Museum of I. M. Poddubny

I. Poddubny is a wrestler, athlete and circus artist. Since 1927, he lived on the territory of Yeisk, and died here in 1949. A memorial museum named after him opened in his former home in 1971. The exposition tells about the life of an athlete and reveals little-known pages of his biography. Here Poddubny's personal belongings, donated by relatives, posters announcing performances, sports equipment and other exhibits are exhibited. On the square in front of the museum, there is a monument depicting the mighty athlete in his best form.

Museum of History and Local Lore

The museum exposition occupies a part of the building, erected in 1913. It was founded in 1920 and by 1941 already contained several thousand copies related to the history of the Azov region. During the Second World War, almost the entire collection, except for a few items, was destroyed, but gradually the management and employees managed to assemble a new one. Today, the museum contains over 55 thousand copies.

Yeisk Dolphinarium

Dolphinarium or as it is also called "Theater of Marine Animals" is located on the Taganrog embankment. In addition to the dolphins themselves, seals, sea lion and Far Eastern beluga whale delight visitors at the shows. The institution is open during the summer season, when there are tourists in the city (May - September). The Dolphinarium auditorium can accommodate up to 500 people. It opened in 2007 and has since become one of the most popular destinations in the city.

Aquapark "Nemo"

An entertainment complex of water attractions located within the Children's Beach. The territory of the water park is divided into three zones for different ages: young children 3 - 7 years old, children 7 - 14 years old and visitors over 14 years old. The author portrayed the actress sitting on the steps and looking into the distance in light reverie, as if in the collective image of all her heroines.

Monument to Sergei Bondarchuk

Another famous resident of Yeisk, who glorified Soviet and Russian cinema, is Sergei Bondarchuk. In the local drama theater, he began his acting career, only then he became a famous director. The monument dedicated to the filmmaker adorned the city center in 2007. The image of the master turned out to be focused and dignified. The sculpture is located on a three-tiered granite pedestal in the middle of a wide street.

Monument to Prince Vorontsov

Prince M. Vorontsov is the founder of Yeisk. At one time he did a lot for the development of the city. A monument in his honor was erected in 2008. The sculptor S. Isakov depicted the Field Marshal on horseback riding a reared horse in full dress uniform with all the awards.The composition is placed on a pedestal faced with granite tiles. Armored boat "Yeisk patriot"

The armored ship was produced in 1944 at the Astrakhan shipyard and installed in 1975 on the eve of the 30th anniversary of the Victory at the request of the townspeople, who allocated their own funds for its transportation. The boat managed to take part in the battles for the liberation of many European cities. The Yeisk Patriot was equipped with tank guns and a machine gun, and also had two powerful American-made engines.

St. Nicholas Cathedral

It is not surprising that in Yeisk there is a temple dedicated to Nicholas the Wonderworker, because this saint is considered the patron saint of sailors and fishermen. The history of the building is very unusual: it was built in 1959 not for religious purposes at all - it was the Oktyabr cinema. In 1996-98, at the request of believers, it was converted into a church, adding a bell tower and erecting domes with crosses on the roof.

Cathedral of Michael the Archangel

The construction of the temple began in the second half of the 19th century according to the project of M. Vorontsov's associate - Prince G.G. Gagarin. But the historic building has not survived to this day, as in 1938 it was completely destroyed. Only a small gatehouse remained from the church. In the 1990s, a nondescript building was handed over to believers and a new temple was built on its basis. Services resumed after the completion of the reconstruction in 1997.

Park named after Ivan Poddubny

The park is one of the oldest in the Kuban, it opened in 1898. Today it is considered almost the main city attraction. Gorky Park

The square is located in the center of the city. It was founded in 1925 at the initiative of the Komsomol members and named after the famous Soviet writer M. Gorky. Previously, Mikhailovskaya Square was located in its place, on which, according to local historians, a ceremony dedicated to the founding of Yeisk took place. In 2007, the park was reconstructed: flower beds were laid out, new alleys were laid and paths were paved.

Nikolsky park

Another green area of ​​Yeisk, where you can go for a pleasant walk after visiting the beach. Here, on a small area of ​​2.7 hectares, there are attractions and cafes. The construction of the site began in the middle of the 19th century. At the beginning of the 20th century, there were already booths, pavilions, a summer theater, a veranda and a billiard room in the park. In 2003, a monument to Nicholas the Wonderworker was erected on the territory.

"Kuban farm"

Ethnographic complex dedicated to the history and traditions of the Kuban Cossacks. There is a stable, a village courtyard, huts with household items and clothes donated to the museum by local residents. Stanitsa Dolzhanskaya is a resort village 40 km from Yeisk, located on the coast of a sandy peninsula. Salt lake in the Yeisk region, located about 50 km from the city. Previously, it was connected to the Sea of ​​Azov, but gradually, as a result of natural processes, an embankment of shell rock and sand was formed, which turned the bay into an independent reservoir. Lake Khan has a shallow depth of 1.8 meters; it stretches as much as 19 km in length and 7 km in width.

Yeisk beaches

Yeysk is a seaside resort; tourists are interested in it, first of all, for its beaches. The total length of the coastline is small - only 2.5 km. There are several swimming areas along this small stretch. The most famous beaches are Central, Youth, Children's and on the street. Freedom.
